INCIDENTS OF DRUGS AND RESISTING AUTHORITY AT THE WINDSURFING AND WINDFOIL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN FUERTEVENTURA
During the Windsurfing and Windfoil World Championship held in Pájara, Fuerteventura, the Autonomous Police intervened in several incidents related to drugs and public disorder. Between last Thursday and Saturday, officers detained two individuals and issued 20 citations for drug possession, disrespect towards law enforcement, and disorderly conduct.
The security operation, comprising 28 officers from the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police\'s Rapid Response Group, supported by the local police, conducted various checks in the municipality\'s neighborhoods and primarily in the tent hosting the championship\'s main events.
Among those detained was an adult woman, arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer by disobedience and serious resistance. Additionally, a man was detained for the same offense after causing minor injuries to another officer.
The Ministry of Security reported in a statement on the police action, highlighting the importance of the security operation in maintaining order during the sports event.
